NH Primary Source: Ironworkers Local 7 is fourth union to endorse Feltes
(New Hampshire Primary Source is a regular feature of WMUR.com on Thursday mornings, with frequent updates throughout the week.)
UNION ENDORSEMENT. Ironworkers Local 7 has become the fourth union to endorse state Senate Majority Leader Dan Feltes for governor, saying he has a record of “standing up for working families.”
The Concord Democrat was previously endorsed by Teamsters Local 633, Carpenters Union Local 352 and IBEW 490.
Mike Smith, business agent for Ironworkers Local 7, said in a statement:
“We’re supporting Dan because he has a long record of standing up for working families in the Senate and as a legal aid attorney. It’s a clear contrast to Gov. Sununu who doesn’t understand what working people are going through.
“Working families don’t want more corporate tax cuts, they want fair wages, quality health care, and strong public education. It’s time for a change. With Dan as governor, we’ll have a governor who has our backs.”
Feltes said: “I’m thrilled to receive the endorsement of the Ironworkers. Day-in and day-out Ironworkers and our friends in the labor movement show up and work hard. They just want a fair shot. I’m running to be a governor who will work with labor, not oppose them at every turn.”
